This is a recording that came about by accident a number of years ago. My friend in Germany, keyboardist, Peter Koch, asked me if I knew Sorrento. I told him, “Schmuck.” After playing with Louie Prima, Sam Butera, and Tony Pastor, he had a hell of a nerve to ask me such a question.

So I went out to my car to get my trumpet, while he set up his recording equipment. We had a bit of Scotch, rather than a rehearsal, and then did this. There was no music. Rather, he just watched me for tempo cues. I think it came out pretty good considering our situation.

Enjoy,
Tony
